Project Objectives

Reeltalent is a calling service for filling in extras in the movie and TV casting world. What was once was an exotic specialty service for casting, has now become a full mainstream business. Casting people for TV, film, video, print and commercials. Prior to the internet as we know it, all casting directors called their orders by telephone. Hundreds of projects require casting on all levels each and everyday in Los Angeles. The goal is to automate this service using a website.

The Solution

A web2.0 style interface was structured for the visitors, but the real work was in the backend. A custom photo and profile database was installed with all the essential bells and whistles. Next an ecommerce portal was added allowing talent to pay their monthly subscription. Directors using the site where give the search capability to choose talent based on all searchable criteria. Finally an administration area allowing a super user account full control over all actions of the site.

The Results

A site that allows talent, movie directors and movies to bring people to the set as movie and TV extras. What was once a telephone mandatory industry has now been given the ability to be more efficient and productive with a computer.
